The theme for this year’s
2015 Chalk Walk is
“Happy Birthday St Augustine”
Use your talents to create a Fun Birthday Tribute to St Augustine’s Rich Culture and the Beautiful Living Heritage of our Nation’s Oldest City!
Just agree to the terms and conditions below and complete the artist’s registration application to participate.
The St. Augustine Chalk Walk is FREE and open to the public.
People’s Choice cash prizes will be awarded for the following:
- BEST IN SHOW
- 2ND PLACE
- 3RD PLACE
- HIGH SCHOOL
Adult and High School Artists may complete for cash prizes.
A Future Chalk Artist Square is provided so children can create their own street paintings.

We start with a Pre-Event Party held at The Colonial Quarter (downtown) with live music, and silent auction. It’s FREE to the public and part of the St Augustine First Friday Art Walk. This party is to thank our Artists, Sponsors, and Volunteers.
Saturday, May 2, 9:30 AM
Artist Orientation. Before chalking begins artists will be required to Check-In at Artist Registration and attend Artist Orientation.
10:00AM – 5:00PM Chalking
6:00PM Cash Prizes Awarded
Sunday, May 3
All day public stroll & viewing.
All interested participants must complete the registration application.
Space is limited and available on a first come first served basis.
All Registered Artists are required to submit a clear sketch/drawing or photo of the chalk art they intend to chalk on the day of the event for approval by the committee by no later than April 15, 2015.
Artwork must be appropriate for public viewing, NO commercial, political or personal advertisements or statements, written, visual or implied are permitted.
Submissions are due by April 15, 2015 and must clearly depict conformance with the theme of the event “Happy Birthday St Augustine” 450 Years. Please send or attach JPG or PDF image, not to exceed 500K, to Artist@StAugustineChalkWalk.com.
Artists only need to bring talent and enthusiasm to make this Annual chalk walk successful. Pastels/ one box of Koss chalk will be provided and all works produced are temporary. There are no artist fees.
ARTIST RULES AND REGULATIONS

- Koss Chalk (One box provided)
- Baby Powder
- Dry Brushes and Sponges
- Aqua Net Hairspray
- No Lacquer or Acrylic
- No Water
- No chalking outside primed artist 4×6 square. It is imperative all chalking and signatures remain inside the primed 4×6 area provided.
- Limit of 2 Artists per Square
- Age Requirements: High School or Adult

ARTIST ACKNOWLEDGEMENT INCLUDING RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT
In consideration for being allowed entry into and participation at the Paseo Pastel, the St Augustine Chalk Walk (the “Event’), I hereby acknowledge the following by submitting an Artist Registration Form.
I acknowledge that at all times, I am an Artist performing a chalk art drawing for The St Augustine Regional Council, (StAR) a nonprofit organization, producer of the “Event” and I am not acting as an employee of StAR, The City of St Augustine, The St Johns County Florida Tourist Development Council, and the St Johns Cultural Council. Pursuant to my participation as an Artist, I recognize that there are certain risks and possible bodily or personal injuries and damages that one may sustain through such participation in the “Event”.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT
I, on my behalf and on behalf of my heirs, personal representatives, executors, Administrators, successors and assigns, hereby agree to RELEASE, INDEMNIFY,
SAVE AND HOLD HARMLESS: The St Augustine Regional Council, (StAR) , The City of St Augustine, The St Johns County Florida Tourist Development Council, and the St Johns Cultural Council, and any sponsor of the Event or any other persons or entities associated with the Event as well as each of their respective officers, agents and employees (the “Released Parties”) of and from any and all losses, claims, damages, demands, liabilities and/or lawsuits for personal injury
( including bodily injury and/or death), property damage or other losses, including any costs, expenses and attorney’s fees (Claims) which may in any way arise from or in connection with any of the activities and/or responsibilities which I may be involved with as an Artist participating in the Event, including Claims occasioned wholly or in part, by any act, omission or negligence or strict liability of a Released Party
This Acknowledgement, Including Release of liability and Indemnity
Agreement shall be binding upon me and my heirs, assigns and legal or personal representatives.
